About the Project
As part of the Respect Ballarat initiative, the Faith Communities Focusing on Prevention: Building Respectful Communities project aims to strengthen ecumenical partnerships across Christian denominations to develop a strong foundation of ongoing work in the prevention of violence and building up strong, respectful communities. This project is being implemented by St Alipius Parish, Ballarat East, and is supported by Catholic Social Services Victoria, the peak body for Catholic social and community organisations working across the state. The project is supported by a steering committee comprised of violence prevention and response practitioners, local Ballarat service organisations representatives, and faith leaders.
About the Role
The Project and Engagement Coodinator is a vital role in the project that will forge connections with faith communities and support the delivery of workshops aimed to build confidence and capacity in the prevention of gender-based violence.
The Project and Engagement Coordinator will:
- Identify, connect and support champions within a range of ecumenical Christian faith settings to invigorate project participation
- Organise logistics and bookings for expert-led workshops exploring gendered drivers of violence and prevention practises in faith settings, and be present to assist with workshop practicalities
- Develop communications and information channels for promotion of workshops
- Provide administrative support for the project steering committee meetings
This is a casual role with approximately 8 hours per week (hours may fluctuate in relation to project needs).
Salary: $45/hour plus 25% casual loading and 12% superannuation
Requirements: Flexible hours and use of own vehicle
Reports to: Parish Coordinator and the Project Steering Committee
