A dynamic and broad ranging group representing most of CSSV's members and other friends and supporters gathered on Friday 21 April for the annual Commissioning Mass for Catholic social services and and the annual general meeting.
On Sunday 2nd April, hundreds of people gathered on the steps of the State Library of Victoria for the 2023 Walk for Justice for Refugees. Held on Palm Sunday, people walked in solidarity with people seeking asylum in Australia, coming together from a wide range of communities, organisations and faith backgrounds to show their support.
Community building was the focus of a ‘Charity Sector Town Hall Meeting' attended by Catholic Social Services Victoria on Tuesday 13 December. This was one of three online forums hosted by the Hon Dr Andrew Leigh, Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury following similar forums held in-person in each of the capital cities around Australia.
CSSV was pleased to join events held during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence including the Walk Against Family Violence and Holding the Light, an ecumenical service of lament.
