Coles Fitzroy partnership with St Mary’s House of Welcome

During Victoria’s latest lockdown period in August, Coles Local Fitzroy on Johnston Street has donated six trolley’s worth of food to St Mary’s House of Welcome. Given the great need in the local community, this donation was particularly welcomed.

In a Facebook post, St Mary’s wrote: ‘In this time of need, as the lockdown was recently extended, St Mary’s House of Welcome could not thank Coles Local Fitzroy and the generous people who shop there enough for their ongoing support and generosity. We will be using this donation to help provide the many vulnerable men and women who rely on our services with delicious and substantive meals.’

Coles Local Fitzroy on Johnston Street have partnered with St Mary’s House of Welcome to better support the Fitzroy community and surrounding areas. Grocery donation bins are provided at Coles Local Fitzroy, and thanks to the caring and kind-hearted individuals who donate a portion of their groceries each time they shop, St Mary’s House of Welcome can now use this food to prepare meals for its service users.

St Mary’s rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and organisations to be able to continue its services. ‘This donation uplifted our mood greatly and we hope sharing this story will uplift yours, too!’ St Mary’s wrote.

If you live within the area and are able to provide St Mary’s with support, please donate whatever groceries you can at this Coles Local branch. At the moment, St Mary’s is in need of long life milk.
