National Reconciliation Week is celebrated every year from May 27 – June 3 and is a time for all Australian people to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. ‘Now More Than Ever’ is the theme this year and is a reminder of the continued need to work for justice for Aboriginals and Torres Strait islander peoples.
Resources for Reconciliation Week 2024
In February the Catholic Social Services National Conference included a panel of First Nations speakers to discuss reconciliation. The dialogue provided guidance on approaches our communities can take in moving forward to build a stronger relationship and implementing a culture that respects and values Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We encourage you to watch the full discussion video (also below).
Do you have 5 minutes at your team meeting? This Reconciliation Week make time with your organisation or parish community to watch the short edited highlights video (also below) from the Conference panel discussion as a way of opening up further conversations on this important topic.
