This Discussion Paper was prepared by Catholic Social Services Victoria with generous assistance from our members and supporters.
With preparations for the July Second Assembly well underway, including development of the key items for discussion and ultimately, decision-making, we offer this document as a chance to reflect and think through the role of the Church in service to the world. The first half of this document responds to some of the small group final reports and other proposals released by the Plenary Council in December 2021and sets out our recommendations going forward for consideration. The second part pulls together a range of ideas that Pope Francis challenges us to consider, which CSSV takes seriously as a basis for our ongoing work, approach and recommendations.
