Rosies Oblate Youth Mission Inc is a charity service that provides coffee, tea and social interaction to the most vulnerable of Melbourne CBD. Rosies provides a comfortable and safe environment at Federation Square every Wednesday and Friday evening between 8.30pm-10.30pm for those who appear to be homeless or lonely.
Rosies provides young volunteers with the chance to actively live their faith alongside other young people who wish to do the same. Regular Rosies volunteers are aged between 18 and 30 and serve drinks and have a chat to those who come to the van at Federation Square every Wednesday and Friday evening.
For anyone wanting to volunteer, they’d be joining a team of committed young adults who provide the warm drinks and frienships. A van is provided as transport between the Rosies office in Mulgrave and Federation Square. Coffee, tea and other supplies are stocked in the van prior to departure. A pre-brief and debrief are conducted at the Rosies office to ensure volunteers are appropriately prepared and have a chance to chat with the team about the night.
No previous volunteering experience is required, just an enthusiastic and kind demeanour.
