Catholic Social Services Victoria greatly values our partnerships for strengthening our capacity to enact the Gospel and create a Victoria that is just and equitable.
The Catholic Development Fund (CDF) has been supporting Catholic communities, including schools, parishes, healthcare and social services, since 1956. They help put faith into action through the delivery of financial solutions that balance margin and mission, for the common good.
CDF has contributed to the successful operation of Catholic Social Services conferences, including the 2024 conference Commons, Commonality, Common Good. They have also supported CSSV’s professional development programs and sector events. CDF continues to share valuable opportunities for formation, learning and networking with CSSV and our member organisations.
CSSV has partnered with Australian Catholic University (ACU) on a community engaged research project: Caring for Carers – Impacts of the cost of living and housing crisis on workers in the care economy .
Started in 2025, this project hopes to understand how the cost of living and housing crisis is impacting social service workers’ ability to access affordable housing
CSSV hopes to use the findings to advocate for policies that support the wellbeing and housing needs of workers in the sector, assist workforce recruitment and retention, and ensure social services continues to be effectively delivered in difficult times.
CSSV is engaged in a partnership with the University of Melbourne on a collaborative project with Our Watch, Kulturbrille and Sisters4Sisters, on a project, Faith as a strength: preventing violence against women. This project aims to build on previous resources about primary prevention activities against domestic violence across faith-based communities to gain a deeper understanding of the interaction of religious faith within social contexts and why gender-based violence might occur. The outcomes for this project will be a number of prevention resources to be established across faith-based settings to help prevent violence against women.

Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) is the peak body for Victorian social services. VCOSS focuses on working collaboratively with organisations and people who have lived-experience to eradicate poverty and improve the condition of and support to disadvantaged communities.
Australian Council of Social Services
The Australian Council of Social Services (ACOSS) is the peak body for community services in Australia and a national advocate that supports people who are affected by poverty, disadvantage, and inequality. They work to influence policy, community and organisational change on a national level.
Mental Health Victoria
Mental Health Victoria (MHV) is an independent body for mental health in Victoria, representing the mental health sector in state and national matters. MHV ensures that every Victorian has access to supportive mental health services. Their core work includes policy advocacy, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Children and Young People with Disability Australia
Children and Young People with Disability Australia (CYDA) is a not-for-profit organisation that represents the rights and interests of young children with a disability (aged 0 – 25 years) in Australia.
Centre for Experience in Child and Family Welfare
The primary aim of Centre for Experience in Child and Family Welfare (CFECFW) is to advocate for the rights and wellbeing of children, young people and families. Representing over 150 organisations, CFECFW acts as a peak body in Victoria and Tasmania to provide early intervention and support for those involved in child and family services. CFECFW aim to address the social, economic, and cultural barriers to help improve the quality of life for children, young people and families.
Australian Catholic Press Association
The Australian Catholic Press Association (ACPA) was established in 1955 in Australia and New Zealand to promote development, and coverage of religious media, while also encouraging collaboration between Catholic members with other religious media.
