Nominations called for St. Mary’s House of Welcome (SMHOW) Board Non-Executive Directors (directors)

Due to the succession of some St. Mary’s House of Welcome (SMHOW) directors and the forthcoming changeover of Chair and Deputy Chair later in the year, SMHOW is looking to nominate three directors to the SMHOW Board of governance.

Applications are being sought from appropriately experienced persons to join the Board. As a Board Director, SMHOW is seeking people with a genuine interest and commitment to their mission, values and purpose of SMHOW.  Nominees will have an excellent understanding of good governance in the context of commercial and not-for-profit enterprise and will be able to lead organisational growth.  

SMHOW seeks directors to contribute to their mission and strategic direction of what is a leading organisation dedicated to delivering services that improve the social wellbeing of people experiencing homelessness and psychosocial disability.

SMHOW is inspired by their mission to further social justice by standing with disadvantaged people offering solutions, support and hope.  The SMHOW Board is comprised of a diverse and comprehensive mix of competencies and perspectives.

They have three (3) independent director vacancies due to succession planning and are seeking:

  • Experience and knowledge of the homelessness;
  • mental health or substance use field;
  • non-executive director and corporate governance experience; and
  • Key skills in finance and risk governance, and/or advocacy, stakeholder and government relations.
