Develop and enact communication strategies and systems across our network of members and the broader community to build social justice and foster practical responses to those in need.
The CSSV Engagement and Projects Lead is a key role within a small organisation that is agile, responsive and dedicated to working for positive change. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will bring energy and focus to our committees by providing timely secretariat support and co-opting working parties for specific projects. This role holds responsibility for the development and enactment of Catholic Social Services Victoria’s (CSSV) communication strategy and driving projects that draw on skills and expertise from across our network of members and their staff and volunteers.
This role will organise consultations, draft proposals, plans and content and manage timely delivery of discrete projects that engage with and deliver shared value for our member organisations and other key stakeholders
This is a part-time, permanent position that offers a hybrid model of work, a dedicated team to collaborate with and be supported by and the opportunity to make a difference every day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and consult on projects and initiatives, collaborating with committees and working groups to develop and advise, demonstrating initiative and ownership as required.
- Collaborate with the CSSV team to develop and implement strategic and operational plans.
- Assist the Executive Director with the organisation of a range of ad hoc & ongoing forums, meeting and events relating to both policy & social change and the development of staff both professionally & spiritually.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technological systems such as CRMs, enabling a small team to make a significant impact and engage a wide audience in meaningful events and topics
- Implement process improvements and actively explore the use of systems/programs/tools that boost efficiency while fostering personal connections.
- Attend various forums on behalf of CSSV at different levels as necessary, consistently upholding and promoting CSSV’s mission.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Understanding of Catholic social teaching and a strong commitment to social justice and the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Ability to write across diverse styles, including formal reports, proposals, website and social media content, media releases, briefings, and meeting minutes.
- Strong technical communication skills (competency in Mailchimp or similar CRM, WordPress etc.) and willingness to experiment and learn with emerging useful tools.
- Sound knowledge of social & strategic planning, and community development approaches and practice.
- Ability to manage priorities; to work independently and to take the initiative in achieving agency objectives.
- Capability to work efficiently as part of a team, collaborating to develop and deliver joint projects, drive change, and impact results.
- Proficient in presenting to audiences and skilled in designing and delivering consultations, workshops, and events, including developing annotated agendas and background materials.
